In millimetres, please. Measure the wall itself, not the tiles - the letters match the drawing.
Does it go up behind a cooker hood?
Where should the full tiles sit?
Cut tiles are unavoidable on most walls. You decide where they land - watch the drawing update.

Cuts are made on the perimeter only. Where a cut piece is 200 mm or narrower, the offcut makes a second piece, so two pieces come out of one tile. Cut edges do not need polishing - they sit against the wall, units or worktop. Antique mirror is hand-aged glass: no two tiles are alike and the foxing shown is indicative. Final measurements are the customer's responsibility.
An antique mirror splashback and feature wall designer, built around your measurements
Our 400 × 400 mm antique mirror tiles are hand-aged in the UK and set out tile by tile for kitchen splashbacks, feature walls, bathroom walls, fireplace surrounds and alcoves. Enter the width and height of your space and the designer draws the wall to scale, works out exactly how many tiles you need, shows where every cut falls and gives you a price - with nothing to sign up for.
Kitchen splashbacks
Measure wall to wall along the worktop and from the worktop to the underside of the wall units. If the mirror rises behind the hob to the cooker hood, add the recess width and height and the designer sets the tiles out from the line of the units so every cut is a straight one. Antique mirror lifts the light in a kitchen without the glare of plain mirror.
Feature walls and fireplaces
Any plain rectangle of wall - a chimney breast, an alcove, a bathroom wall, a bar back or a headboard wall. Choose whether the full tiles sit at the floor, at the top or centred up the wall, and whether the cuts fall evenly at both ends or on one side only.
Fully prepared or supply only
Fully prepared: we cut every perimeter tile to your measurements, label the tiles in fitting order and include the mirror-safe adhesive - £40 per tile plus £29 for each tile that needs a cut. Supply only: the exact number of uncut tiles your wall needs at £40 each, with the layout to cut to yourself. You can switch between the two on the quote.
Questions about designing a mirror wall
How many antique mirror tiles do I need for a splashback?
Each tile is 400 × 400 mm, so a typical 3000 × 600 mm splashback uses around 15 tiles including the cut pieces. Enter your own measurements above and the designer gives you the exact number - it pairs offcuts where a cut piece is 200 mm or less, so you are never charged for a tile you do not need.
Can antique mirror tiles be cut to size?
Yes. Choose Fully Prepared and we cut every perimeter tile to your measurements before delivery, labelled in fitting order. We make straight cuts only; the cut edges sit against the wall, worktop or units and do not need polishing. If you are cutting yourself, the tiles score and snap like ordinary mirror glass.
Do I need a hood recess on my splashback?
Only if the mirror continues up behind the hob to the extractor. Tick "with a hood recess", add the recess width, height and its distance from the left-hand wall, and the designer draws the stepped shape and sets the tiles out from the underside of the units so the recess tiles start on the same line.
What adhesive do I use for antique mirror tiles?
A mirror-safe adhesive that will not attack the silvered backing. One tube fixes about six tiles. It is included with every Fully Prepared order and available as an add-on for supply-only orders.
Can I save or share my design?
Yes. Every design has a reference and a shareable link, and you can download a printable layout sheet showing each tile and its cut size - handy for your fitter. If you would like us to check it before anything is cut, use "Ask us to check it first" or call 07902 764227.
Are antique mirror tiles suitable for kitchens and bathrooms?
Yes. They are used for kitchen splashbacks, bathroom feature walls and vanity backdrops. Fit them with mirror-safe adhesive on a sound, dry surface and keep them away from direct, sustained heat such as an open flame.
